Take the Leap

We all know that life is short and that time is not an abundant resource for anyone. That is why the next time anyone asks you to go on that weekend away or go out with the friends - do it. Our existence and health is not guaranteed for anyone so make the most of your life now. When you are not able to do all of the activities anymore, you will spend your time reflecting on all the memories from when you said yes to all the fun things and are left with wonderful memories to replay.

Here is the truth; someday is a thief. Someday steals the present by promising a more convenient future that rarely arrives. If you are waiting for the perfect bank balance, the perfect weather or the perfect level of "readiness" to take a leap, you are missing the point of the jump.

The Cost of Playing it Safe

We often think of taking a leap as a high risk gamble. Rarely, do we think of the cost of inaction.

  • Faded inspiration: That spark you feel for a new hobby or a new city has a true expiration date.

  • The routine blur: When every day looks the same your brain stops "recording". This is why a year at a desk feels like a week, but a week of travel feels like a year.

  • The what if weight: Regret is much heavier to carry than a backpack or a temporary failure.

Why "Now" is the Only Real Option

Logically, we know life is finite, but we live as if we have an infinite supply of "somedays". Taking the leap is not just about being reckless; it is about intentionality.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the one you did do" by Mark Twain.

The Takeaways

In ten years, you will not remember the extra four hours of overtime you put in on a random Wednesday, yet you will remember the time you decided to drive through the night to see the sunrise or the time you finally signed up for that stage-fright-inducing drama class.

The world is wide, time is moving and the "perfect moment" is a myth. Take the leap. The memories will last a lifetime.
